It is here that one can feel that the Earth is a living organism, with its own internal processes and hot breath. It is here that you can realise yourself as a part of something incomprehensible and incredibly huge - a part of incessant life and a part of the Universe.
Here you can see fumaroles in all their beauty and variety. Some can only be seen up close, revealing under your feet a bubbling surface with a characteristic sound and odour, consisting of boiling volcanic rocks.
In winter snow covers the valley not completely, so there is a unique opportunity to observe the breath of the earth even in January.
Our second location is Dangerous canyon (by the condition of the road). In summer the Mutnaya River starts in the crater of the Mutnovsky volcano, which, flowing into the canyon, forms an incredible waterfall. With the arrival of winter, a high ice block is formed. Periodically it collapses under its own weight, but the depth of the canyon is still terribly beautiful.
On the way back we will bathe in natural thermals, admiring snowy hills. It is possible to dive into snowdrifts.
08:00 a.m. - pick up the participants of the ascent from the places of accommodation (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Paratunka settlement) by prepared off-road vehicles and go to the Mutnovskaya geothermal station.
On the way we make stops at the main sights: Zaikin Klyuchi brook, Vilyuchinsky volcano, Goryachaya hill, Vilyuchinsky pass. From the top of the Vilyuchinsky pass there is a stunning view of 9 volcanoes.
11:30 a.m. - we drink tea, go through safety briefing, get ready for a short hiking passage
12:00 p.m. - hiking to the fumarole site ("Small Valley of Geysers", aka Dachnye springs).
01:30 p.m. - return to off-road vehicles, go to the Dangerous canyon (according to the snow cover condition).
02:45 p.m. - lunch, tea party.
03:30 p.m. - return to Termalny village with a stop for bathing in Karymshinsky thermal springs.
