Mutnovsky volcano is one of the most active on the entire peninsula. And you can easily see this for yourself, approaching the crater. With your feet you can feel how vital activity is bubbling: you can hear the hum of the earth, mud boilers are boiling, steam and gas are escaping from large and small fumaroles.
A tea party is waiting for us in the crater of the volcano. Agree, it's quite strange and amazing to drink a cup of hot tea inside a huge boiling cauldron. Just look, a giant's face will appear above your head with a spoon and sugar cubes.
Gorely Volcano was once the twin brother of Mount Kilimanjaro. But, as often happens, the similarities and comparisons fairly tired him. So he exploded with indignation and resentment. He threw out such a fiery stream that he burned everything around within a radius of 25 km. Now you can definitely not confuse him with anyone. A remarkable blue lake was formed in one of the craters. It can be safely called the Eye of the Volcano.
06:00 — we pick up the participants of the trip from the places of accommodation on comfortable SUVs and go to the active volcano Gorely. The journey takes about 4.5 hours. Stops at the Zaikin Key, the Paratunka River, the Vilyuchinsky Pass, the caldera of the Gorely volcano.
10.30 — safety briefing, preparation for climbing, tea party
11.15 — start, visit to the "new" crater, where a new glacial lake was formed, transition to an active crater with a depth of 280 meters and a diameter of 400 meters, excursion program, light lunch at the crater
15.15 — return to the SUV parking lot, transfer to the camp, accommodation
18.00 — hot dinner by the campfire, rest
07:00 — wake up, breakfast, fees
09:00 — departure to the foot of the Mutnovsky volcano, visit to the 100-meter waterfall in the Dangerous Canyon, safety briefing, the beginning of the ascent
11:00 — visit to the craters "Northern and Southern fumarole field", Glacial lake and "Active funnel"
14:30 — return to the SUV parking lot, lunch, departure to the waterfall on the Calm creek.
16.00 — walking (10 minutes) to the waterfall
17.30 — departure to the thermal springs.
19.00 — bathing, dinner, return to the participants' accommodation. The journey takes about 1.5 hours.
