The village of Esso-"Kamchatka's Switzerland"
Five-day tour to the village of Esso, with a visit to the Even village, rafting, fishing and bathing in springs. It will not be boring!

The charm of the small village has an irresistible effect on those who come here. People are struck by the amazing purity of the air, the special soft taste of the water, the atmosphere of peace and friendliness. The usual state of the atmosphere is windless; especially in winter one can notice the peaceful silence, which city dwellers have got used to. There is a dry microclimate and many sunny days. In winter and summer Esso is very beautiful. The surrounding mountain landscape reminds of Alpine views.
Right in the middle of the village there is a large outdoor pool with thermal water, which does not freeze even in frosts. There is always someone swimming here. The hot springs are used not only for healing dips, but also for growing vegetables and berries (including strawberries) in greenhouses and for heating the houses.
The settlement was officially named Esso in 1932. It was believed that the word was a tracing of the name of the Bystroy River in the Even language or a distortion of "isag", which means larch. However, linguists do not agree with such interpretations. According to the latter version, the name of the settlement came from the Koryak "echchot", i.e. a planking of rods on the snow.
Life in Esso flows in a measured way. There is quite a developed infrastructure here - there is a post office, a bank, schools (including a music school and a crafts school), a kindergarten, a winter sports complex, a ski resort, a bus station and an airfield. There is also a waste processing plant.

Visit to the bear museum, ethnographic museum and Even camp "Chau-chiv". Dinner, bathing, rest.
